Todd wood-fired cook stove arrived

Our new Todd wood-fired cook stove has arrived, and is being assembled. The chimney pipe is back-ordered, but should be here soon. We look forward to cooking Thanksgiving dinner with it, and hope to learn how to use it before that day arrives.

How has your cookstove turned out? Does it cook well? Is the finish nice? Would you buy it again?

I am in the beginning stages of shopping for one. Why did you choose the Todd?

Thanks

It's turned out very well. The oven door thermometer reads low, so get a oven thermometer you can place inside. Finish is decent for a chinese copy, but for the price ($950), it was a fantastic deal. We found it in stock at our local Ace Hardware store. You can see pics in the photo album.

I wish I owned my own home, because the first thing I'd purchase is a cook stove!

Were there any special permits that you needed or any clauses in your homeowner's insurance that had to be considered?

Permits and approvals are not necessary in this location. I told my insurance company I had a second woodstove installed. They did not raise an eyebrow, or the premium.
